Support with childcare and nurseries

We have a nursery at our Handsworth site which has received excellent Ofsted reports. We also have a special arrangement with The Nursery photoGolden Start nursery in the Children’s Centre at the Golden Hillock site in Small Heath, where our students can access places.

Most students get help from the Learner Support Fund to meet the cost of nursery fees. This will cover the costs of childcare in internal college nurseries. Ask for details.

Places in college nurseries are limited. You need to put your name down as soon as you are offered a place on a course.

Awards for City College Nurseries

Our nursery provision at Handsworth Campus holds the Gold Award for the quality of the education and care it provides. This was awarded by the Birmingham Early Years Partnership.

Ofsted reports for City College Nurseries

In 2007/8 City College had an excellent Ofsted inspection report for our Handsworth nursery. It is available on the Ofsted website or on request.
