Learning Resource Centres

We provide books, journals and access to a range of electronic information sources. These include on line services such as Oxford Reference, Marketline, Childlink, and many more. In addition, there are now thousands of EBooks available.

All these resources and much more are available through the LRC Moodle pages. Many of these resources are only available to students and staff of City College, but you can also use them at home or work!

Fordrough Campus LibraryComputers, Internet, Photocopying and Book Loan

LRCs provide access to books, journals computers, Internet, photocopying and printing facilities, and study spaces. Most resources can be borrowed by staff or learners, and renewal and reservation services are also available. Inter-site loans can be arranged.

All LRCs have Multi function devices (MFDs) that print, photocopy or scan, in colour or black and white. Students are given a free print/photocopy allowance at the start of term, which is accessed through their ID card, but can ‘top up’ their cards (min. 50p) in any LRC if required. Copies are charged at 2p per sheet black & white and 10p per sheet for colour.

We offer a Learning Resource induction programme to introduce you to research skills, how to write a bibliography, and how to get the most from the Internet. Your personal tutor will arrange this.
