What support will I get?

We pride ourselves on the high levels of support we offer our students. As a student at City College, you'll get:

  • Impartial advice and guidance on your choice of course, financial matters, welfare benefits, careers and progression and personal issues. We have a team of trained Student Advisers. Daytime and evening appointments are available.
  • A personal tutor to support you through your course and help you with any difficulties you may have.
  • Individual help with Maths, English and Study Skills if you need it to be successful on your course. We have Dyslexia specialists too.
  • Financial support there's lots of financial support available for our students to help with the costs of coming to college.
  • Learning mentors to provide you with individual support if you need help to stay on track with your studies. A mentor can help you to work through any issues you may have either at home or at college, as well as help you organise yourself for study. We have a team of five learning mentors who cover our different college sites. We also have a team of peer mentors. These are successful ex City College students who have now progressed to university. The peer mentors will share with you their strategies for success and experience of university life.
