Our Careers advisers can help you to plan your career after college and that starts when begin your course. They can help you in the following ways:
- 1 to 1 guidance about choosing a career. This is more in depth than a course enquiry. The careers adviser will talk through your ideas and plans, make suggestions about alternatives and help you to assess yourself against your chosen career pathway. They will give you careers information, help you to research careers information and come up with a plan of action to get to where you want to be. You can also see a careers adviser if you are unsure and want to plan before you choose on your course.
- Careers education activities in your course. Careers Advisers work with students in groups in workshops, lessons and tutorials.

The student advisers and careers advisers help students by maintaining resources for you to use such as books and software and by staging events
Resources
- Careers books and fact sheets in paper and on line.
- Software and links to careers websites. Our software will help you to assess yourself and identify a career. These include Adult Directions, Pathfinder, Job Explorer Database, Kudos and NARIC data on qualification equivalence for international students.
Events
- Moving On in September will help students applying to higher education.
- Looking for Work events in April help students to meet employers and find jobs.
- Progression Week in May. Events in this week help students to decide on their next step after college.
