Advice and Guidance
Our Student advisers are there to help and support you in making your decisions on your choice of course. Daytime and evening appointments are available.
They can help you in the following ways:
- You can call into our main campuses to get face to face help on choosing courses, details of courses, how they fit in with your career plans.
- Help you when you have applied to college with advice on choices, talking through alternatives, finance for fees, child care, materials, help on how the course affects benefits.
- Take telephone course enquiries to help you if you have a complicated enquiry.
- Help if you are an international student, asylum seeker or refugee. You may need more support with rules on study and finance.
- Help to complete application and enrolment forms.
When you start college, the student advisers can help you
- They are a first stop enquiry service for Student Services. They will deal with your enquiry – from money and benefits to course and career and they then refer you to other experts such as careers advisers, welfare officers, mentors etc.
- They travel to different centres and campuses and in some centres have specific times when they are available.
