question Where do I find out about jobs with City College?
Answer All our jobs are advertised on our website, on Fejobs.com, on teachFE, and with the job centre. Tutor vacancies are also advertised in the TimesEd.

question Can I apply for a vacancy with a CV?
Answer Unfortunately the college does not accept CVs as an application. A City College application and a letter of application must be submitted.

question Can I give you my CV to keep on file until a suitable vacancy arises?
Answer Unfortunately we do not hold details on file as applicants must submit an application form each time they apply.

question Where can I access a City College application form?
Answer An application form plus other information can be downloaded by clicking the relevant job vacancy on our Job vacancies page and selecting from the "Vacancy Info" menu. Alternatively during recruitment campaigns you can call the recruitment line on (0121) 204 0000 for an application pack.

question Why do applicants need to complete an Equal Opportunities monitoring form?
Answer The information collected is used by HR for monitoring purposes to ensure that no post applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of race, gender, disability, class, nationality, age, marital status, sexual orientation, trade union, political or religious beliefs. This will be kept confidential and will not be included as part of the selection process.

question What is the process after submitting an application form?
Answer An interview panel will look at all the applications received and confirm which applications meet the criteria of the person specification. These applicants will then be selected for interview.

question How do I get into teaching?
Answer You will need a relevant subject qualification and have or be willing to undertake Qualified Teacher Status i.e. PGCE, or Certificate in Education.

question What other non teaching roles are there at the college?
Answer There are a wide range of jobs at the college from Security Reception Officers to Hair and Beauty Technicians to Administrators.

question I have applied for jobs with City College in the past but have never reached interview stage. How can I find out why?
Answer Applicants must demonstrate how they meet the criteria of the person specification in their application form and letter of application. You can request feedback on your application form and letter to help you for next time.

question I have applied and been interviewed for jobs with City College but I wasn't successful. How can I find out why?
Answer Applicants can request feedback on their application and their interview whether they are successful or not.
