Working Hours
All staff are contracted to work 37 hours per week.
Annual Leave
The holiday year runs from 1 August to 31 July for which the full time entitlement is as follows, 25 days for non-teaching staff, 38 days for teaching and management staff. In addition all staff will receive 10 statutory days leave. Staff are required to keep aside at least 5 days for efficiency closure.
Pension Scheme
Non-teaching staff are eligible to join the West Midlands Local Government Pension Scheme. You will automatically be entered into the pension scheme unless you choose to opt out.
Teachers staff are eligible to join the Teachers Pension Scheme. Full time staff will automatically be entered into the pension scheme. If you are a fractional teacher you will not automatically be entered into the scheme and you will have to opt into the pension scheme.
Induction
The college runs a formal mandatory induction programme for all new starters. In addition teaching staff are required to attend a more specific induction programme.
Probation
All new appointments are subject to a probation period of 9 months. There are three probationary reviews during that period of time.
Staff Performance & Development Review (SPDR)
A staff performance development review (SPDR) will be carried out within the first 4 weeks of your appointment. All staff have an annual performance and development review. These are to review staff performance and set targets.
Professional Development
The college operates a comprehensive Professional Development programme throughout the year.
