As a parent, I am sure you will be interested to know what makes City College Birmingham so very special.

We aim to ensure that your child will have the best possible Further Education experience in the city. We have state of the art facilities and highly qualified, motivated staff that strive for excellence in teaching and learning.
The success and well being of our students is very important to us.
We value the opinions of our students and parents, these are used to influence and improve our provision. These are some of the views of our Ofsted Inspectors:

How can you support your child in their course at City College Birmingham?
- Encourage them to attend every class on time! Remember we require an explanation for all absence and lateness.
- Remember our courses and the awarding bodies we work with require a minimum attendance of 90%.
- Contact your child's Personal Tutor if you have any concerns you may wish to discuss in regards to their teaching and learning.
- Attend our Parents' Induction in the autumn term, tour the campus and see the fantastic facilities and services we have on offer.
- Attend our Parents' Evenings in the spring and summer terms. Parents' Evenings provide an ideal opportunity for a 1-1 meeting with your child's personal tutor and any other members of staff involved with their teaching and learning e.g. learning support assistants, pastoral workers, mentors, welfare officers, careers advisors, the enabling team and campus managers.
- Support our drive for excellent conduct and behaviour. Please ensure that your child knows that we will not tolerate any form of disrespectful or antisocial behaviour. We strongly adhere to our college disciplinary procedures and are actively supported by our local Community Police Officers.
Every Student Matters
As well as learning new skills and developing their knowledge in one or more subjects, our students will develop a wider understanding of society, and take part in activities that promote the 5 key areas of:
- Being healthy

- Making a positive contribution
- Achieving economic well-being
Every student has:
- Access to enrichment activities to broaden the scope of their learning programme and develop wider personal and social skills.

The college has a comprehensive child and vulnerable adult protection policy and clear procedures for ensuring student safety. The college also has a comprehensive anti-bullying policy and has nominated a senior member of staff to oversee these very important areas of our work. Anyone who would like a copy of either of these policies should contact the 14-19 Manager or the Head of Student Services.
We look forward to welcoming you to our team.
