Higher Education Tuition Fees

Information about fees for our current offer are coming soon.

Student loans

If you are eligible, you will be able to take out two Student Loans per academic year from the Student Loans Company:

  • a Student Loan for tuition fees - to cover the cost of your tuition fees in full
  • a Student Loan for living costs - to help with accomodation and other living costs

The loan for the tuition fee is not affected by your family income and is paid directly to the college on your behalf. You will not have to start repaying the loan(s) until after you leave your programme and are earning above a minimum amount set by the government (currently £20,000 a year). You will then repay the loan through deductions from your salary according to how much you earn.

Student Finance England

To ensure that you have all the information you need to work out what financial support you may be eligible for, how you get it and when you need to repay, a new service - STUDENT FINANCE ENGLAND - has been created.  A wide range of material is available to download from their website - www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance, or you can call them on 0845 300 50 90.

Student Cash Point is a free website designed to help students find out about funding and the costs associated with studying for a higher level qualification. . You should visit the Student Cashpoint website for more information.

Assistance with financial hardship from the Access to Learning Fund

If you are a home student you may be eligible for support from the Access to Learning Fund, which provides financial assistance to help you access and remain in higher education.  The Fund is available to students who face higher than expected costs, sudden financial emergencies or serious financial problems during their programme. You can apply to the Fund to request financial assistance for course-related costs, travel or for general living costs such as food or rent.

How payments from the Access to Learning Fund are accessed

Assessments are made by looking at your expected income and reasonable expenditure on living costs, rent, travel and course-related costs. If you qualify for a payment from the Fund, it will not usually have to be repaid.

When you can apply to the Access to Learning Fund

You may apply to the Access to Learning Fund at any stage during your programme of study. In order to qualify students are required to have applied for their full income assessed Student Maintenance Loan entitlement before submitting their application. If you qualify for a payment from the Access to Learning Fund, it will not usually have to be repaid.
